2017 Melbourne Synod
18-21 October 2017
Election of Clerical Canon: St Paul’s Cathedral
As you will be aware, an election will be conducted at this Synod for a Clerical Canon of St. Paul’s Cathedral. There are two nominees: John Capper and Matthew Williams. They are both strong candidates.
The New Cranmer Society Committee believes that Matthew Williams is the preferred candidate, and encourages you to support him when voting takes place this Saturday. Matthew is a faithful and effective minister at St James’ Old Cathedral. He has strong gifts in preaching and liturgy, which will serve the Cathedral well. In the wider life of the Diocese, he has served on the Stipends Committee and helped to organise and plan for the recent Diocesan Clergy Conference. His business experience prior to ordination will be of great assistance to the Chapter.
If you have not already done so, please ensure that you book for the NCS Synod Breakfast.
Please join us from 7.45 a.m. on Saturday, 21st October for our New Cranmer Synod breakfast. We are delighted that Bishop Paul Barker will be joining us as our guest speaker.
