Additional Synod Motion concerning CRE put by Craig Ogden

Rev Craig Ogden submitted an additional motion supporting CRE to the 2011 Synod. It will be debated Friday night.

Additional Synod Motion regarding CRE put by Craig Ogden
That this Synod
1. Gives thanks for the provisions of the Education Act of Victoria that allows for Special Religious Instruction, of which Christian Religious Education is offered, along with the programs of other faith providers.
2. Acknowledges the important role that the Anglican Church plays as a founding member of the Council for Christian Education in Schools, and gives thanks for its ongoing contribution in leadership and governance.
3. Acknowledges the significant contribution of Anglican CRE volunteers who represent just under a third of all CRE volunteers.
4. Acknowledges the contribution of all school Chaplains, especially in Anglican schools, but also those who work as Access Ministries Chaplains in State schools in Victoria.
5. Acknowledges the support for Access Ministries conveyed by both the Federal and State Governments.
